Brisbane Festival is one of Queensland’s largest arts festivals, taking over our beautiful river city from 9 – 30 September with a jam-packed program of dance, theatre, comedy, music, family events, free activities, and wrapping up with the iconic Sunsuper Riverfire.

With so many different shows and events on offer, it can be a tricky process to whittle down your list of must-see’s and must-do’s.  But fear not, the team at P4 Group have put together their top picks from this year’s Brisbane Festival program to lend a helping hand. Check them out below!

“Terror! A choose-your-own-adventure Goosebumps-esque show for adults? Amazing. Count me in! – Kate, Account Manager

Young Hearts Run Free. This was the soundtrack to my youth. I had the CD and loved it! I can’t wait to see how Brisbane Festival brings this iconic soundtrack to life with live musicians, performers and special guests, plus they couldn’t have picked a more perfect venue than the Tivoli to host the night. It’s going to be a party that would make Baz Luhrmann proud I’m sure!” – Lily, Senior Account Manager

“I can’t wait to catch the amazing Helen Cassidy in Erotic Intelligence for Dummies. Covering everything from sex, love and dating to philosophy and social media, wrapped up in comedy, song and dance, it’s sure to be a laugh (with a dirty joke or two on the side).”  – Nat, Account Manager

“I cannot wait to get my hands on tickets to Fun House. I saw Blanc de Blanc at Brisbane Festival last year – which was from the same production company – and it was such a laugh; I just wanted to see it again and again! Fun House looks set to be just as entertaining, if not more. I mean, it is called Fun House, after all. I’ve also already got penciled in my diary to spend the first few weekends of spring hanging out in Treasury Brisbane Arcadia. Working my way through the food trucks and craft beers while enjoying the glorious city views sounds pretty good to me!”  – Sophie, Account Executive

“I can’t go past Sunsuper Riverfire as my absolute favourite event, not just of Brisbane Festival but of the year. The spectacular, theatrical fireworks celebrate our beautiful river and cityscape; there’s always a real sense of city pride and a great family-friendly atmosphere. It’s one of my main Brisbane-brags to my friends and family in NSW.” – Natalie C, Account Manager

“I am looking forward to exploring Treasury Brisbane Arcadia at Brisbane Festival this year. As a food, wine and entertainment lover, Treasury Brisbane Arcadia encapsulates everything I love in one convenient, fun and uber-exciting place! A perfect night at Arcadia for me will include; indulging in food from Treasury Brisbane Arcadia, a pre-show craft beer at Little Creatures, seats at LIMBO UNHINGED and a post-show wine at Salome Lounge.   Lauren, Account Director

“I think I’m most excited to check out The Preatures. Blue Planet Eyes was chock-full of sing-along tracks and the new album is no different! This is a band that is known for delivering an unmissable set that is always so fun to dance to!” – Erin, Account Director

‘I can’t wait to see London Grammar. Hannah Reid’s voice is absolute heaven. Kite String Tangle, James Vincent McMorrow and Mansionair as support acts will make for the best afternoon/evening of live music!” – Bec, Account Manager

“I’m the most excited to see Bron Batten in Onstage Dating! We’ve all been on awkward first dates and I think it’s going to be hilarious to see how the audience volunteers react to the crazy situations Bron puts them in!” – Katelyn, Intern
