P4 Group was appointed to generate lifestyle, sport and general news editorial coverage both nationally and throughout regional and metro Queensland in the lead up to and during the Queensland Virgin Australia Supercars Championship events.

To increase ticket sales and website visitation for both events through:

  • Promoting the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship’s key messages
  • Highlighting key announcements to drive media awareness
  • Ensuring major stakeholders were branded/acknowledged
  • Profile drivers and teams
  • Promote the Gold Coast as a tourist destination
  • Tell human interest, business and lifestyle stories about Supercars drivers, their partners, families, event volunteers and event spokespeople; as well as entertainment and celebrities at events
  • Promote the entertainment acts performing at the Gold Coast 600 and family activations at the Ipswich Supersprint
  • Promote the Miss Supercars competition

SOLUTION

P4 Group implemented a multi-faceted communications strategy, which focused on publicising key events, profiling key stakeholders involved and promoting the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship as Australia’s premier racing event. P4 Group also successfully assisted in managing media attendance for a number of media calls and events before and during the two events.
