COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

    DESIRED OUTCOME

To ensure local residents and road-users are updated in a timely manner and to ensure disruptions are kept to a minimum.

    CHALLENGE

P4 Group has worked with Tropic Asphalts on a number of pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction works on the Sunshine Coast including Maroochydore Road and Sunshine Coast Motorway.

    SOLUTION

P4 Group worked on behalf of Tropic Asphalts with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) in order to:

    • Establish and maintain effective relationships with interested and affected stakeholders
    • Effectively manage expectations, by ensuring a ‘no surprises’ approach
    • Communicate construction impacts and any changes to road conditions (i.e. detours, lane closures, traffic switch etc) in a timely manner
    • Avoid or minimise the negative impacts of construction activities
    • Provide feedback of any stakeholder interactions
    • Mitigate communications risks by proactively identifying issues

    RESULT

P4 Group was able to mitigate potential issues such as dust, noise, vibration, changed traffic conditions, access and night works. By providing residents with relevant and timely notification, daily liaison with directly impacted residents and business owners regarding access issues and 24 hour liaison with onsite project manager to manage and mitigate night works complaints.
