COMMUNICATIONS AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT, LAND ACCESS

    DESIRED OUTCOME

Proactive delivery of communications around the construction program to inform the community and the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR).

    CHALLENGE

Landsborough Highway is a major thoroughfare for heavy road haulage and local users. As such targeted and wide-ranging communications around traffic impacts were important for a wide variety of road users to ensure their journey experience wasn’t compromised.

    SOLUTION

To ensure we kept one step ahead to meet notification requirements, we worked closely with the project manager to understand key community risks and possible impacts.

P4 Group drafted community control plans following the TMR preferred process which enabled TMR to deliver communications as part of the overall State Government’s Flood Rehabilitation Program.

On the ground, P4 Group drafted brochures around a callpoint system and met road users (local landowners) one-on-one to educate them about the system. This kept safety as a number one priority for both the community and internal project workforce.

    RESULT
    • Delivered information that met TMR guidelines and protocols for minimal rewrite by the client
    • Project received zero grievances regarding construction works
