COMMUNICATIONS AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

    DESIRED OUTCOME

To identify communication gaps, improve internal communications and support Easternwell’s vision for the future.

    CHALLENGE

Easternwell employs more than 1,000 people, the majority of whom are field-based in rural and remote areas. While the majority of employees have limited internet and phone access, 50 per cent of Easternwell’s workforce is off-hitch at any given time.

    SOLUTION

Over the last three years, P4 Group has worked with Easternwell to undertake its annual communications audit and deliver the recommendations as part of the integrated internal and external brand-building strategy.  P4 Group employs a number of tactics to gather valuable, accurate and relevant data including:

    • One-on-one meetings with key decision-makers
    • Facilitated qualitative field research through focus groups
    • Developed and analysed online and paper-based quantitative surveys
    • Desk research of existing communication channels and activities
    • Collating information which enabled accurate benchmarking
    • Competitor and market research
    • External trend identification

    RESULT
    • 16 per cent year-on-year increase in audit participation; 20 per cent increase amongst field-based staff
    • Over 60 per cent of employees have noticed significant improvements in how Easternwell communicates
    • Development of five clear communication channels including corporate, business unit, unofficial, at home and feedback to address specific problems and needs
