COMMUNICATIONS AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT, LAND ACCESS

    DESIRED OUTCOME

Keeping landholders and community informed of Cooroy to Curra Upgrade project.

    CHALLENGE

Road users, landowners and the wider community needed to be made aware of the traffic impacts of construction to minimise the disruption to their day-to-day road use and travel.

    SOLUTION

Identification of road users was integral to the success of the communication for this project. Comprehensive liaison occurred with adjacent landholders to minimise disruption. Schools and school bus providers were consulted regarding the provision of alternative route options to minimise disruption, while communication to the wider community ensured travel journeys were not compromised. Communication tools included:

    • Advertising
    • Construction notices
    • Website
    • One-on-one meetings
    • Signage
    • Letter box drops

    RESULT
    • Minimal community complaints
    • Zero negative press coverage
    • Positive feedback from local schools
