Australia Day
P4 worked together with the Department of Premier and Cabinet to promote Queensland’s official 2011 Australia Day celebrations which included the Australia Day Lunch, the Australia Day Festival and the AusSounds Australia Day Concert (headlining Guy Sebastian). With over one third of Australians celebrating our national day at an official event, P4 developed an extensive and far-reaching media and publicity plan incorporating TV, radio, print and online. Executing a creative publicity plan and leveraging media contacts, P4 secured over 70 individual media clippings valued at over $650,000 in the lead up to the celebrations as well as on the day. This culminated in high attendance levels and wide recognition of the events on offer to the public. Due to the extensive flooding in Brisbane in the lead up to Australia Day, the planned schedule was completely revised in the final stages of the project. This resulted in P4 constructing a new publicity plan and implementing crisis management strategy to alert both the media and public of the changes. This experience highlighted P4’s ability to be reactive and flexible and our ability to deliver results for clients under challenging circumstances.
